How to Celebrate the Arrival of Spring
With the arrival of spring, the South American continent has different ways to praise this beautiful time of year. Music, folklore, dances, parades and processions are the most visible in parts of Latin America.
The nature and generating renewed surprising many of us feelings of joy and good times. For this reason, from past decades in Latin America it was performed traditional celebrations and tributes to this beautiful time of year, spring.
Trujillo, Peru: Capital of Spring
The International Spring Festival was born in 1950 at the initiative of Lions Club of Trujillo and is considered one of the most important tourist events in northern Peru, and even Latin America. From that moment, the beauty queens and other celebrations such as flowers triggered the start of this event which is held every year and receives thousands of locals and travelers from around the world.
The International Song Festival in Trujillo is a parallel event of the Spring Festival and is considered as one of its biggest attractions. In this space, the Peruvian folklore and popular music of other countries on the continent meet a huge number of artists of great stature as the pillars of the music you have the opportunity to present their talent. Please note that artists such as Roberto Cantoral, Ricardo Montaner, Pepe Miranda, Cristina and Lauro Volpi, among other greats of Latin music, have made their debut on stage in this festival.
A memorable season
Trujillo has its doors open to all visitors, has a wide selection of hotels, guest houses and hostels to suit all tastes and budgets. Similarly, the whole city is ready for the season for activities and festivities. One example is the circular ring Avenue Spain which has more than 3 kilometers long and is suitable for the public to appreciate the extras and parades are held in the streets.

The festival’s program includes more than 100 artistic, social, sporting and cultural, including ethnic fashion, fashion queens, craft fairs, foot races, horseback riding, music and dance presentations, Graphic Design Festival, the Festival Spring Choir, health campaigns, special events of different genres in dance clubs, lectures, theater and culinary events, among others.
Dolores, Uruguay National Day of Spring
This beautiful celebration was born more than 45 years in the classroom of the Liceo de Dolores. The math teacher at the time, Vicente Vetervide had the idea of holding students to a conference of communal living, Timothy Ramospé Peninsula, to celebrate the arrival of spring.
Students, teachers and some parents, for several consecutive years attended the festival which opened with parades and caravan of carriages pulled by horses and adorned with ornamental, whose trip began and ended at the Lyceum on the peninsula.
The fun
The first parties were held in September, but now are the second Saturday of October each year. For the people of Dolores this is a very significant event and it is for this reason that the preparations begin months in advance. Many involved in the preparation of the floats, which are now self-propelled, and are concerned because each of them is stunning by the sight of the audience.
The big Sunday
From early morning until Monday, the music keeps ringing in Dolores, where all streets are decorated for the morning parade of troupes and choreography.
Among other activities, many attend the peninsula to the submission of candidates to reign and musical acts of student groups and guest artists. In the night, after the parade a great feast takes place at the Estadio Carlos A. Magnone, where the queen is crowned, will choose the best floats of the parades and is celebrated with dancing and revelry.
The next day is Monday and Burial say goodbye to the party. The winning parade floats back and many students and travelers gather for the entertainment of the closure.
Buenos Aires, Argentina: Student Day
A huge number of young people celebrating the arrival of Spring and Student’s Day in some public parks and areas like the Costanera Sur, Parque Roca and Palermo Forest.
From the morning sports activities are carried out, electronic music and parties, along with preventive health campaigns. Also, in some parts of the Recoleta, dances are held spring and circus shows that captivate many viewers with their performances in the city generating an atmosphere of joy and celebration.
In Buenos Aires, the first day of spring is a great celebration throughout the city, but most young people prefer to visit the forests of Palermo where there is the biggest event of all. Thousands of people go to raves with the most important DJs of the local scene. The party was worth it. If you have much time you can visit the Japanese Garden, which also perform some special activities for the previous day.
