That is why it was declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO since 2005.

Gran Canaria is an island of surprising diversity of landscapes. It is amazing to find in such short distances, arid dune areas with dense forests, towering cliffs or near endless golden beaches. Full of shapes and colors, Gran Canaria surrounds us by their prominence and joy.

Many quality beaches have made it famous in the world, including among them Maspalomas dunes and endless, the indomitable tourist Güigüi and Las Canteras. And that’s not all, because in the south of this island we lose any of its many coves and nudist beaches.
But this island offers even more. For example, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, capital of the island, we have at our disposal a large number of proposals to fill our leisure time, theaters, museums, sports, music … all at our fingertips.

The neighborhood sits right, beautiful ride to enjoy the view of the typical houses canary, with its beautiful wooden balconies. Here we can visit the Cathedral of Santa Ana, dated 1497, and the Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno, which are exposed, works of artists both canaries as across the Atlantic.

The museum and its impressive collection Canario remains Guanches, the original inhabitants of the islands.

El Pueblo Canario created by the Canary artist Nestor de la Torre, which is located in the Park Doramas and shows the beauty of the Canarian architecture.

Canary Garden is botanical garden which is to protect native species of the islands.

Other parts of the city that we should not miss are: La Casa de Colón, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Museum of Benito Pérez Galdós Auditorio Alfredo Kraus.

And if we go south, enjoy the varied entertainment opportunities offered by the coast of Maspalomas, marinas, water parks, golf courses, underwater activities, etc.

Among the 21 municipalities of Gran Canaria up, each with charm and character, we find much to discover. Prominent among them Arucas, old city and proud of its extensive banana plantations, its Gothic cathedral and Arucas Mountain, where the view is magnificent; Telde illustrious city of steep streets, which counts among its treasures with over one hundred archaeological sites and over seven hundred ethnographic goods cataloged and Mogan, and beautiful scenery of flowers and fruits, Teror, and their “highways” by those who formerly spent their horses. In the latter town is situated appointed the beautiful basilica in honor of the Virgen del Pino and the House of Dona Teresa de Bolivar, wife of Simon Bolivar, colonial style.

Moreover, its cuisine is also a strong point that makes the tourists return to visit. It’s wrinkled potatoes, the “Ropa Vieja”, fish soup, watercress soup, rabbit in gazpacho or “Old boiled,” among other dishes. Delicious desserts such as Bienmesabe, and a wine appellation “Gran Canaria” convinced.

Gran Canaria is connected to both the Iberian Peninsula with the rest of the archipelago due to scheduled landing at Gando, its only airport. In addition the service also operates charter flights to various European cities.

If you want to travel with boat, there’s no problem. We can take one of the ferries or jetfoils linking the Puerto de la Luz de Gran Canaria and Tenerife, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, and beyond, with the port of Cadiz.

All passengers enjoys a starry night: watching the sky and see the stars. It’s an opportunity to be surprised at how tiny we are facing the vast universe.

Tourism astronomical independent of the season we meet, is in constant growth, and Chile is one of the best places to appreciate it.

The Region of Coquimbo, in Chile, is also known as the “Region Star” capable of providing a clean sky for astronomical observation. This allowed the proliferation of observatories in the area, in turn boosting its tourism edge. They can use large telescopes and all the instrumentation with which scientists have given life to these places.

Observatories
Some visitors will be fleeting: Certain sectors, in which astronomers are working every day, will be open to the public so that we know what it is.

For example, the International La Silla Observatory, located in La Higuera, we can make use of telescopes ready, every Saturday afternoon throughout the year (except June and July because of the weather conditions). The tours are free and are assisted by specialized guides.

Another interesting place to visit is the Inter-American Observatory Cerro Tololo, in the province of Elqui, at 2200 meters above sea level. Annually receives many visits from students in the investigative framework, and also welcomes travelers who want to learn about their facilities, on Saturday morning and afternoon.

Astronomical Observatories
On the other hand, there are other tourist character observatories have been created especially for the enthusiastic traveler can feel an expert overnight. For this it has adapted facilities and some even have a museum where you can learn more about the subject.

Pangue Observatory, in the Elqui Valley, has 30 degrees south latitude, allowing it to boast of one of the best views of the heavens that surround it. As in most of these establishments, visitors can use the computerized telescopes and enjoy tours and observing sessions.

For those who want to take pictures of what they see, you can visit the Observatory collowara in Churqui hilltop at 1300 meters above sea level. The premises have prepared a telescope to capture images. Other features include direct observation decks outdoors, and an auditorium where visitors can enjoy audiovisual material.

The astronomical map
It’s large number of observatories, both scientific and created for tourism that can be distributed over the region of Coquimbo, both the province and in Choapa of Limari, through the province of Elqui.

Beyond the wonders of the sky, the Coquimbo region has beautiful valleys, mountains, spas, and various attractions such as cultural centers, museums, exhibitions and churches. It also has several offers of accommodation and local cuisine.

The city is filled with numerous attractions, squares, churches, bridges and extraordinary views.

The city of Venice was originally a port city, a city where commercialism was able to unite the East and West. Even the first tourists came here over 1000 years ago, and like almost everyone, were puzzled by this advanced city.

The Gallerie dell’Accademia is undoubtedly one of the greatest museums, important and famous of Venice today. The Accademia contains a fascinating collection of Venetian artists dating from the thirteenth century until the eighteenth century, and pictures of amazing artists like Titian, Tintoretto, and Giorgione.

Another site that stands out in this beautiful city is the Church of Frari; the XIII century church stands above all other churches in the city, especially by the fact that it has some impressive works, such as the Assumption of Titian, or the wall San Juan Batista de Donatello. Another church that stands out is the church of San Giovanni e Paolo, a thirteenth-century Gothic church which houses several tombs, works of great painters and frescoes of the New Testament.

The Basilica of San Marco is probably one of the most famous sites throughout the city. The monument is located on the Piazza San Marco, where the body was originally buried in San Marcos brought from Alexandria. The Basilica of San Marco was rebuilt three times, and this version XI century. Its Byzantine style, which was unusual for a Roman Catholic Church, is filled with replicas of Quadriga, the four horses that were brought from Constantinople in 1204 and now in the Museum of San Marco.

The Palazzo Ducale, the Doges Palace is located between the Basilica of San Marco and one of the main canals, and was built to rule the Serenissima and part of the Mediterranean for about 1000 years. The Palace is an impressive building full of masterpieces of the great Venetian artists as Veronese and Tintoretto, and the soils are the best pink and white marble, made to impress the leaders of other regions for hundreds of years. Here you can view the Duke’s private rooms, the conference room of the Assembly of Ten and the Bridge of Sighs, a palace with the impressive Palazzo delle Prigioni. The Palazzo Ducale is a fascinating place where one could see how the ancient maritime empire reigned.

The Grand Canal is Venice’s main street, the street that is known all over the world. The canal is lined with hundreds of old houses Byzantine, Gothic and plazas full of life. It is recommended to take the vaporetto water bus on which will take you to one of the Canalazzo while one can feel the 1000 years of history and see the iconic gondolas and water street posts.

The Piazza San Marco, Venice’s iconic square, is the true heart and lungs of the city. Here one can stroll through one of the world’s most beautiful places, full of cafes, shops, restaurants and the famous Campanile, the tallest structure in town.

In 1992 the historical core of Prague became part of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage of UNESCO. The statement is just one more reason to visit the city, being one of the oldest cities in Europe that is noted only tread its soil. The city has an aura of mystery and melancholy that stops time, full of different architectural styles is logical that it is the cradle of dark legends and home to writers such as Kafka, the stroll through its streets is one of the best exercises inspiring may exist.

Among the buildings we mixtures Renaissance, Baroque, Art Nouveau, Gothic … it all feels like a place almost of enchantment that has been used as the setting for many movies and be there to understand why …

The city was born as a result of the construction of the Prague Castle (now the Presidential headquarters Castle) on the banks of the Vltava river, the foundations of the city dating from the Middle Ages, but was inhabited in the Paleolithic era and was the settlement of a Celtic tribe in the sixth century BC.
It is advisable to visit the city in autumn, and winters are quite hard and very hot summers, as well as best you can enjoy Prague is loitering, which is not nice if the weather is not accompanied by at least a little.

For lovers of literature this is a place of worship, because Prague is where Kafka stayed and where they came his best works. Some of the places where he lived as a tenant in a room are now small museums in particular is one that is in the old street of the alchemists to the king Rodolfo accommodate those who sought the philosopher’s stone, the place is easily recognizable because house is a small gray facade lined the cobblestone street is in the same spot as the astrological clock and the central square where the executions took place. It is one of the most crowded areas so that there will be no trouble finding it.

Among the attractions of the city we have the Charles Bridge, with thirty statues of saints and that is a place of pilgrimage for believers Czechs.

It is also well known Jewish Quarter: Josejov, one of the oldest in Europe and transmitting the last anguish during the war and is interspersed with the boom that has today. They are also well-known ancient Jewish cemeteries and synagogues, one of them the Klausen Synagogue where they are exposed many children’s drawings made during the Holocaust.

One feature of Prague is the beautiful and dramatic mix, effect that filters its people, as they are very reserved, a result that this area was always the center of many wars and conflicts, but no longer a magical travel to perform.

Amsterdam is one of Europe’s most charming cities, attracting millions of visitors every year. The architecture appears to challenge gravity as higgledy-piggledy canal houses lean against one another like dominoes.

The winding lanes of the Jordaan district, the city centre cafes and lush expanse of the Vondelpark all form part of the overall appeal, not to mention the world class museums and bustling nightlife.

Amsterdam is simply magical to visit during winter and New Year in the city is busy and bustling. Queen’s Day, held on 30 April each year, is one of the liveliest days on the annual calendar when visitors and residents alike gather together for one the world’s biggest street parties merged together with markets.

Summer heralds a seemingly never-ending myriad of festivals, concerts and parades to keep you occupied.

Whatever time of year you decide to visit the capital city of Holland, getting there is easy and getting around the city itself is even easier.

Situated at one of Europe’s busiest crossroads, Amsterdam has excellent air and rail links, as well as busy ferry ports.

Amsterdam is served by Schipol International Airport which lies within easy reach of the city centre at just 18km. Schipol is the Netherlands’ main international airport and the fourth busiest passenger terminal in Europe.

Schiphol is connected to Amsterdam Central Station with a direct rail link. Trains run every ten minutes or so, departing from platforms one and two in the main arrival plaza and usually returning from Central Station at platform 14. Single journey tickets cost a few Euros and catching the train is the quickest and most convenient way to get from the airport to the city centre with the journey taking around 20 minutes.

From the airport, tickets are sold at the ticket office but if you have some change you can skip the queues and surcharge and use the self service ticket machines instead. Airport shuttles, taxis and limousines also run between the airport and the city centre.

Once you get into the city centre you will probably notice that the locals preferred method of getting around is by bike. Dedicated cycle lanes make it safe, quick and easy to navigate your way around and there are several bicycle companies situated at locations throughout the city.

Amsterdam is also a walking friendly city. You can cover most of the old town within 30 minutes and the outer city limits can be reached within an hour or so. Taking a walk around the streets is one of the best ways to soak up the atmosphere that makes Amsterdam so popular and means you can pop into any shops that tickle your fancy.

Most public transport within the city is by tram whereas buses and the subway serve the outer destinations.

Whatever time of year you book your flights to Amsterdam, a canal cruise is a great way to take in the city’s sights from a different viewpoint and offers an alternative way of getting around.

This summer, many Americans are reviewing their budgets and concluding that they cannot afford a vacation. When you add up plane fare, hotel accomodations, and renting a car, there may not be enough money left to eat while you are traveling, much less to pay for entrance fees to museums or amusement parks. Some New Jerseyans, however, have turned their state’s “close to everything” location into an opportunity to take a frugal vacation. Residents of Trenton, Egg Harbor, and North Bergen are saving money on hotel rooms and restaurants by offering their homes to homeswappers from other states and countries. The key is to first declutter your home, putting family heirlooms, valuables, and important files into a New Jersey self storage unit. Then you not only have a clean home — you have a home that can be traded for a few days or weeks to an-other family.

Why would a homeswapping family want to come to New Jersey? New Jersey is one of the United States’ best kept secrets. It makes an ideal summer or fall vacation destination, giving a traveler access to bucolic rural areas and bustling urban envi-ronments. New Jersey also gives cash-strapped vacationers alternatives to renting a car, with its extensive bus and rail sys-tems and ferry lines. Trenton is a particularly good location for homeswapping because it gives your vacationing guests ac-cess to two additional metropolitan areas: New York City and Philadelphia. But Egg Harbor, North Bergen, and Parlin make good destinations too. You can find families interested in homeswapping at homeswapping websites such as HomeLink In-ternational, HomeExchange.com, HomeforSwap.com, and SwapYourVacationHome.com. If you are a medical professional, you might want to check out the recently formed DoctorsHomeSwap.com, which accepts only doctors.

To prepare your home for a homeswap, clean and declutter just as you would if you were putting your home on the market. In both situations, you are inviting strangers to enter your home.

~ Put valuable items, family heirlooms, important papers and files, and computers and electronic equipment into a cli-mate-controlled Trenton self storage unit, or an individually-alarmed North Bergen self storage facility. Find some place that meets all your needs for self storage, giving you plenty of space, a reliable security system, and climate control if you need it.

~ Clean out closets, bookshelves, and drawers, getting rid of clutter and leaving space for a vacationing family to hang clothes in your closets. Make sure that you leave out linens for the beds, towels and washcloths, hangars, toilet paper, and other such items. Put the excess into the self storage unit that you rented for your valuables, or into an attic or crawl space.

~ Keep operating manuals for appliances in your home out, placing them on the kitchen counter or in some other equally visible location. Next to the appliance operating manuals, leave a list of emergency phone numbers, including the police, fire department, local hospitals, and other basic service providers. Include your own name and cell phone number so that you can be reached in the event of a home emergency.

~ Make sure that your homeowners’ insurance is up-to-date.

~ When you agree to an exchange, use a written agreement to clarify the terms. You may also want to arrange for a family member or friend to stop by to meet your homeswappers and answer any questions that they might have.

Consider, as well, leaving food for a first meal in your kitchen, putting fresh flowers out, and/or putting out a welcome bas-ket or gift. Then you are ready to leave. Enjoy your vacation!
