Volcano Museum in France

Throughout the history of our humanity, volcanoes has always been involved in events that have changed the lives of many. Such is the case in Pompeii, a faithful reflection of a volcanic disaster, which caused the destruction of two entire villages. Displaying the most recent cases, we can see examples of countries like Chile, Mexico and Ecuador suffered in recent times the regrets of their respective volcanoes.

As they work, and why are activated, among many other questions, very few people know. For this reason, in Auvergne, France built the European Park of Volcanism, in order to bring society to the complex world of volcanoes … a more fun and dynamic.

The complex has a large park, which contains two main elements: the volcanic garden (a greenhouse that outlines the types of vegetation that can grow in areas hit by the volcano) and the main building, consisting of a large conical tower open showing its two opposite faces, a cold covered basaltic volcano represents the outside and one inside, golden representing its content.

To enter the museum itself, must be lowered several feet underground, can see the exhibition on the relationship of the Earth with volcanoes, and samples of their effects, story and reactions. Light and leftovers are the main protagonists in these environments, where a skylight will reign suddenly takes light from outside.

But the journey can not be complete without climbing to the top of the building, where you can enjoy their strange morphology and feel inside the volcano.

Zaragoza Landmarks

Today I will describe the most important monuments of the city of Zaragoza, capital of Aragon. Zaragoza is located geographically on the banks of the river Ebro, Gallego and Huerva and Imperial Canal of Aragon. We consider that occupies a strategic position being only 300 km from Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao and Toulouse.

Rich historical past important this city was dominated by the Visigoths, Romans, Arabs and Christians has an outstanding architectural legacy among which we mention: the Museum Caesaraugusta Forum. This is located in the Plaza de la Seo. It houses archaeological remains found in excavations that were conducted during the years 1988-1991 in this area of the city that have been preserved in its original location.

The architectural structures Caesaraugusta Forum related mainly to two stages: the first and the oldest member of the founding era that the remains of a market and brought piping drinking water, a sewer with gutters and some wall stores. In the second stage are remains of a spacious forum, a large sewer, canals and the foundations of a section of porch and attached premises.

The Arab conquest can recommend a special visit to the Palace of Aljafería. The Palace is located on the street without number Deputies and is without doubt one of the most important monuments of Moorish architecture in the XI century. The salient points that are worth a visit go in are the Patio de Santa Isabel, with its beautiful landscaped porches, the Golden Hall and the Chapel. As historical facts we can say that from 1485 the palace was the seat of the Tribunal of the Inquisition and is now hosted at the Cortes of Aragon.

As a Christian building it’s include: the Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of El Pilar. Its relevance lies in being the largest Baroque church in Spain. Its interior is notable for having fresh notable painters like Goya and Francisco Bayeu, among others. It is also home to great works of art as the altarpiece by Damian Forment and the Holy Chapel, the work of eighteenth-century Spanish baroque.

Zaragoza undoubtedly is not limited to these three monuments but is countless number of them and the variety of styles due to the people who ruled in ancient times. These lines are only intended as an input window to learn more about these living relics.

Astronomical Tourism in Chile

All passengers enjoys a starry night: watching the sky and see the stars. It’s an opportunity to be surprised at how tiny we are facing the vast universe.

Tourism astronomical independent of the season we meet, is in constant growth, and Chile is one of the best places to appreciate it.

The Region of Coquimbo, in Chile, is also known as the “Region Star” capable of providing a clean sky for astronomical observation. This allowed the proliferation of observatories in the area, in turn boosting its tourism edge. They can use large telescopes and all the instrumentation with which scientists have given life to these places.

Observatories
Some visitors will be fleeting: Certain sectors, in which astronomers are working every day, will be open to the public so that we know what it is.

For example, the International La Silla Observatory, located in La Higuera, we can make use of telescopes ready, every Saturday afternoon throughout the year (except June and July because of the weather conditions). The tours are free and are assisted by specialized guides.

Another interesting place to visit is the Inter-American Observatory Cerro Tololo, in the province of Elqui, at 2200 meters above sea level. Annually receives many visits from students in the investigative framework, and also welcomes travelers who want to learn about their facilities, on Saturday morning and afternoon.

Astronomical Observatories

On the other hand, there are other tourist character observatories have been created especially for the enthusiastic traveler can feel an expert overnight. For this it has adapted facilities and some even have a museum where you can learn more about the subject.

Pangue Observatory, in the Elqui Valley, has 30 degrees south latitude, allowing it to boast of one of the best views of the heavens that surround it. As in most of these establishments, visitors can use the computerized telescopes and enjoy tours and observing sessions.

For those who want to take pictures of what they see, you can visit the Observatory collowara in Churqui hilltop at 1300 meters above sea level. The premises have prepared a telescope to capture images. Other features include direct observation decks outdoors, and an auditorium where visitors can enjoy audiovisual material.

The astronomical map

It’s large number of observatories, both scientific and created for tourism that can be distributed over the region of Coquimbo, both the province and in Choapa of Limari, through the province of Elqui.

Beyond the wonders of the sky, the Coquimbo region has beautiful valleys, mountains, spas, and various attractions such as cultural centers, museums, exhibitions and churches. It also has several offers of accommodation and local cuisine.
